Veteran DJ and reggae collector, St. Louis’ Soul Selector, Papa Ray lent his distinctive voice and vinyl selections to the big ska show. Ray’s gig at KDHX is focused on the Blues, R&B and Soul, but he’s got a passion for many eras of Jamaican music, as evidenced by all the classic Bluebeat and Rocksteady on this episode.

What a fun show!  Last night started off with some brand new tunes from The Aggrolites and Smooth Beans, then we chased down some ska themes in the vein of vocal legends like Prince Buster and Eric Monty Morris.  Of course, my favorite segment was when we were joined by Greg K, who gave us the scoop on all of the big touring ska acts that came through St. Louis in Feb.
