JJ Gets Respect
Yeah, being a Ska Blogger and DJ is a fairly thankless hobby. You put yourself and the music you love out there and you don’t always get nice feedback in return. Of course, every now and then someone comes along and affirms the work you’re doing, and maybe they’re kissing your ass a little but it makes you feel good about yourself.
Courtney from The Minneapolis Ska-Punk outfit, Sajak has just launched a new podcast from his site MNSka.com. It’s called The Flyover Ska Show, and the second episode features yours truly. Let’s have Courtney describe it himself:
There is a growing number of people in the Midwest that are fans of ska music and its derivatives. Some have been lifelong rude boys, some are discovering this music for the first time. The Flyover Ska Show is here to give those fans a diverse look at ska and reggae music in the US through a series of interviews between host Courtney Klos and artists, musicians, bloggers, and DJs as they paint a picture of American ska music for those who live right here in flyover country.
It’s a great honor to be amongst the first round of subjects for this interview-based podcast, something that I’m a big fan of- and an honor to be treated with such esteem. You can check out episode 2, featuring me, by following the link below, but make sure you also listen to the fabulous interview with Gideon Blumenthal of Westbound Train.
