Playlist for Ska’s the Limit on January 30, 2010

Here’s what happened on last night’s Ska’s The Limit…  The first hour was filled with high energy, contemporary ska and ska-punk from the likes of Common Rider, Vic Ruggiero, Big D and The Operators 780.  By contrast, hour two focused more on Rocksteady and neo-trad Ska, with a tiny tribute to Lyn Taitt followed by smooth sounds from Hepcat, Dr. Ring-Ding, Jackie Opel and many more.  I received a ton of positive phone calls, cheering me on- thanks everybody!

If you missed the show, you’ve got two weeks to stream the archive from KDHX.org

I was still a bit jet-lagged from flying into town earlier that morning, but I think I mustered some actual enthusiasm on the mic.  Things were kept fairly light and upbeat, with a fair amount of 60’s popcorn ska, modern acoustic ska and reggae, and some laid-back rocksteady.  See the links below for informative links to music and videos
